I keep hearing how easy it is to cook bacon in the oven, but I haven't tried it because for the last year we've been living in a house without a working oven! I can do a lot with my toaster oven, but haven't figured out how to fit a pound of bacon in there yet. :) I'll definitely have to give it a try once we get settled into our new place.

It's even easier to bake your bacon. I just line a jelly roll pan (cookie sheet with sides) with foil, place bacon on foil and bake at 400 until as crispy as you like. Drain the bacon on paper towels and freeze or refrigerate to use as needed. After the grease cools just fold up the foil and throw away. I love not having to clean up the grease spatters from the stove top

We've been trying to use up some of our pantry and freezer stash the last few weeks, so we don't have a huge amount of food left to move. This move is just across town, so we'll be able to move refrigerated & frozen items without too much worry. We moved 750 miles last year and it pained this cheapskate to throw out all of those refrigerated condiments and other foods we just couldn't move!

We eat the mini wheats for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks around here. Of course, not all in the same day! LOL!

Eat the stuff you'll have to move. We actually ate out of our freezer and pantry for weeks before our move just so we wouldn't have so much of that kinds of stuff to pack up. It made it harder to stock back up again, but it was worth it. I was so tired of boxing and labeling stuff.
